Welcome to Stoner Avenue Elementary!
At Stoner Avenue our goal is to prepare and inspire our students to be lifelong learners who are confident, productive, and contributing members of our multicultural/multilingual society. We have high expectations for all students. Our dedicated teachers, staff and parents work collaboratively to ensure student success. We use research-based methods to meet the needs of all learners. In English Language Arts we address students needs by providing them with daily targeted reading instruction to promote the love of reading. In mathematics we use daily fluency to develop a strong sense of numeracy and promote problem solving strategies to prepare students with 21st Century skills.
Our school believes in developing the whole child. All students have the opportunity to engage in the arts through music, theater, dance and visual arts programs. Stoner Avenue has a partnership with community programs such as Santa Monica Assistance League, LA Scores, Del Rey Neighborhood Council, Marvista Family Center, Venice Family Clinic, and UCLA Scope.
Our Dual Immersion program creates an environment that ensures that students enrolled will have the opportunity to develop bilingualism and biliteracy. The program aims to develop student self-confidence, cultural pride, and cross-cultural understanding through the performing arts.
